Kilt Hire Company steps into the breech for Wedding Emergency

Grand News Network | June 25, 2024

United Kingdom, 25th Jun 2024, King NewsWire - A1 Kilt Hire are used to going above and beyond for their customer on their big day but they’ve never been asked to be involved in the ceremony itself – until now.

Most often, this means getting the groom and groomsmen kitted out in their chosen tartan, with the offer of home delivery always on offer. However, for one recent wedding, A1 Kilt Hire was there to witness the whole thing.

Owner, David Dalrymple, found himself stepping into the breech to help with a last-minute delivery to Dundee but ended up attending the wedding of the happy bride and groom.

The kilt order was last minute, with a request for two kilts to be delivered on Thursday 6th of June, for the wedding of two happy Scots who were flying in from their home in Canada. With no time to send it by courier and A1 Kilt’s own driver already carrying out deliveries, David volunteered to deliver the kilts to himself.

David said, “We always go the extra mile for our clients and this wedding was no exception. I was touched by their story and wanted to pull out all the stops to make sure they would have their wedding just as they wanted it. I was only too happy to take care of the delivery myself.”

Although both the bride and groom are Scottish, they were flying in from Toronto to get married. With one kilt for the groom, the second kilt was for the grooms best friend who was to act as a legal witness to the impending nuptials but having suddenly fell ill and unable to attend the service.

With only minutes to go before the ceremony, the bride and groom found themselves with just one witness and if a substitute couldn’t be found the wedding would be cancelled and this is where A1 Kilt Hire stepped in to save the day!

The quick-thinking couple realised that David might be willing to act as their second witness, enabling the wedding to go ahead

Just minutes before their ceremony was to take place, the bride and groom contacted A1 Kilt Hires head office and relayed their unusual request to David who was only too happy to step in to the breech to allow the couples big day go ahead.

David Dalrymple, Owner of A1 Kilt Hire, said, “We’ve managed to ‘Say Yes’ to many unusual requests over the last 20 years but this is the first time that I’ve been asked to be part of the wedding itself. I admit I was slightly nervous and worried I was under dressed but I’m happy to announce the service went ahead and I and everyone from A1 Kilt Hire would like to wish the happy couple all the best for the future – I am so honoured to have been asked to be a part of their special day, which also became a very special day for me too.”
